STORAGE
The
Enviro-Tester™
should be stored in its container
at a temperature between 40 to 86 degrees. Freezing of kits
and exposure to strong light should be avoided.
The shelf life
indicated by the expiration date will be obtained by following
proper storage procedures. Further shelf life may be obtained
by storing the unit in the refrigerator.
Please note
that the paddle can only be used once and not used for
repeated testing.
USE
Do not handle the surface (media) before or after use. Proper
Disposal: re-insert paddle into container with either bleach

INSTRUCTIONS
1. Remove the
Enviro-Tester™
from container.
2. Turn the air conditioner
or heat thermostat on high so that the system is blowing air
through the ducts.
3. Hold the
Enviro-Tester™
paddle in the air stream for 60
seconds while rotating the paddle. After testing, return the
paddle to its container.
4. Store the unit in an upright position for 24-72 hours at 70
to 95 degrees F. For best results, place the container on top
of a domestic water heater to keep the proper temperature.
Results may be apparent after a short time, but due to the
varying climatic conditions, wait the full 72 hours before
obtaining results.
5. Following the incubation period, examine the surfaces on
both sides of the paddle for evidence of microbial growth. If
there is any evidence of microbial growth, compare it to the
enclosed Mold
Colony Density Chart (Click Here).
6. After comparing the paddle to
the Mold Colony
Density Chart,
you will be able to
determine the amount of bacteria, yeast, or mold that is
present in the ductwork. You can then determine if it is
necessary to have the ducts cleaned and or if additional
filtration system might be needed. |
